The standard we work to
We aim for WCAG 2.2 level AAA across the site. That means body text has a contrast ratio of at least 7 to 1 in both light and dark modes, every control works with a keyboard alone, and nothing relies on colour by itself.
What the site does to help
A text size control in the header scales everything on the page from 85 to 150 percent, and your choice is remembered on your device.
A dark mode follows your system preference by default and can be toggled at any time.
There is a skip to content link, one clear page heading per page, visible focus outlines, and minimum 44 pixel touch targets throughout.
All movement, including the menu, parallax and page reveals, is switched off automatically if your system asks for reduced motion.
Images carry alternative text, decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers, and forms use visible labels with error messages linked to their fields.
The site works without JavaScript for all core reading and contact tasks.
Known limitations
Some older documents in our archives were produced by partner organisations years ago and may not be fully accessible as supplied. When you ask, we will provide the content in an accessible format.
Some photography is still being replaced with final licensed images; alternative text is reviewed as each image lands.
